Dr Robert DeBoyer has been specialising in male health since 1996 and is currently seeking to register male health as a sub-speciality with the medical council.

Holding both the MRCP (normally reserved for specialist physicians) and the MRCGP qualifications Dr DeBoyer held a 'foot in both camps' in the UK combining general practice with several hospital posts. The discrepancy between health care delivery to men and women laid the foundation of Robert's interest in male health issues
Robert and his wife Rhona emigrated from the UK in 1992 and are New Zealand Citizens. Rhona shares her husband's enthusiasm for Male health care, and has been sole director of the clinic since its inception. As both the point of first contact and behind the scenes, Rhona has been instrumental to the success of the clinic and patients find her empathy towards male related health issues reassuring and refreshing
